Waiting on Football

Did I just say I am waiting on Football Season??

The end of the month is here and I really don't like August sometimes. Given it is when my birthday occurs but A LOT of August is just spent on long hours practicing for my coach & the boys. Don't get me wrong I know how IMPORTANT practice is but I'm just ready to see them all out on the field!

Today, B & I went shopping and I got this mess for what I hope to do for the first day of two-a-days

You will have to come back next week to see if the plan in my head actually works out. (:

As always I am linking up with Holly!

Weekend Wrap Up: Hot & Busy

So I am only a day late in posting this but that is okay!

This weekend was BUSY! I headed out Friday to San Antonio and can I just say for the hundredth millionth time how much I hate traffic. I left Austin at 1 pm and did not get to my hotel until close to 5 pm. It is only a two (ish) hour drive. Sooo much backed up traffic.

Friday night after a staff meeting - I got to rematch the 2005 National Championship Game.
I am a sports nerd and I have no shame.

In the 7th grade we used to play a review game and our teacher was a coach and she would always ask a sports bonus question just for fun. It was so sad that I was the ONLY one in my class that knew all of the answers.

Saturday came and we headed out to Sea World.

We were hosting a training for all of our awesome families at Sea World.

It was great seeing everyone but it was HOT!

I left Sea World rather early and headed back to the hotel to hang out at the empty pool.
Then had some yummy dinner.

B sent me this picture of the hubs saying that he was now a model.
HA HA HA HA
I am pretty sure he was checking the deer feeder and the game camera got a picture of him.

I do love this picture though.

Finally on Sunday night I got home!

There is nothing better than getting to prop your feet up.

Monday.....

It was a LONG day.

Then I got this super cute monogramed ear warmer from EBGIFTS

I love it! I am ready for football season.

So that was my crazy busy and HOT weekend!

I have another busy week and weekend a head. My poor husband asked to look at my calendar to see when he could take me out for my birthday next week.

I hope you are all getting to enjoy some family time before school starts back!

Weekend Wrap Up: Where do I start?

So Where do I start?

On Friday I met some of my awesome families at the movies to talk about emotions and watch the Inside Out movie. I will have to write about the movie at some point but know this IT.IS.GREAT.

Then I met some great ladies and had dinner together. Friday was my first time to eat at the Macaroni Grill... crazy right?!?! Moving on from my lack of food diversity.

I also got my business cards... I feel official now :)

On Saturday I spent the day doing laundry, packing, cleaning, and working.

It went by way to fast. My uncle and Ad met me at home and we re-packed the car and headed out to Dallas Love Field.

Spent the whole three hour trip working on my research paper.

Our flight was SUPPOSED TO leave at 8:45 p.m. Little did we know that we would not be leaving over TWO hours later. I hate waiting. I don't car if I am waiting in traffic, waiting at the store, and especially waiting at the air port. Apparently we did not have a captain...... After I heard that I thought of Denzel Washington in Flight. Sad huh?

We were then told they found one and so we all boarded the plane. And then sit there an HOUR.

He was fine just watching Netflix. Me I was bored out of my mind!

We FINALLY made it to Vegas. It took forever and a day to get our bags.

We then made it to the hotel at about 3:00 am Texas time. You would think we would be able to check in super quick and get up to the room. HA HA HA we were WRONG again.

So apparently our reserved room was not available. YAY! So we got "upgraded" to a different tower and room. Well that room didn't have two beds so it didn't work. So we go back down to the desk and we were told that we get that room.

Finally, the last I saw it was about 4:00 am Texas time when I finally went to sleep. LONGEST DAY EVER.

So we started Sunday by watching some golf.

Then we waited and waited in line to check out, just so we could check back in.
We finally got into our correct room!

On Sunday I had a research paper due and like the good procrastinator  president I am, I spent most of the day working on my paper. Thankfully I got it done.

This was me all day........

Then I got to spend some time with this guy!

Even though we had the craziest time getting here, we did make it safely and that is all that matters in the end.

Let's see what we get into tomorrow. (:

Waiting on Wednesday: Waiting to Get Home

Hey!

So this post is being created at the Harligen Airport as I am waiting to board to get to Houston where then I will wait to get to Austin where then I will drive almost two hours home! So I should see my bed around 1 am!

You tired yet? Because I am. And to top that all off I have to be in the Tyler area bright and early at 10 for work and I live about three hours from there. (:

Needless to say I am guessing I will get about three hours of sleep but it is well worth it for 48 hours of sun, sand, and the ocean with my main man!

This was us today at the pool.

Isn't he the cutest :)

(I do have on a swim suite, I promise!)

This is just some of the fun I had today.

I have also finished two books and working on my third!

I wish I could stay longer but work calls.

I am not too sad because Saturday we are off to Vegas!

Us in Vegas in March

We love Vegas. I love to people watch and let me tell you there is PLENTY to see there!

I just love getting to spend time away with my main man.

I hope you are all enjoying your summer with the people you love!

Don't forget to link up with Holly for Waiting on Wednesday!

Beach Time

Hey!

I am sorry I have been so MIA, please bear with me through July & then you will get nothing but Football, Football, and more Football. HA HA HA

I know you guys are excited. #Imightgoalittlecrazyduringfall

So where in the world am I today?!?!

The Beach!

South Padre Island to be exact.

We come here every year but this year all I have in this pretty place is 48 hours then it is back to work for me.

#selfiefail

I have no idea why I am wearing my sunglasses inside.

If I could have this view every day I might actually read some more for grad school.

Yes, my husband is a master on the grill.

So this morning as I am typing this, I am being blinded by the sun, hear multiple lawn mowers, and see multiple people down below cleaning the pools.

But most importunely I see God's AMAZING creation.

The wind, the sand, the water, the sun.

These are things that I see daily (minus the sand & ocean) but why does it take a breathtaking place to remind me of just how Awesome God's creation is!

I am so thankful to have this 48 hours to spend in the sand & sun and with my family.

I am needing to work on being more intentional with the time I spend with my hubby as in just a couple of weeks, he starts two-a-days and will never be heard from again till May.

So I am overreacting but once football starts back, he is NEVER home. It's just our life.

In bigger schools there are different coaches for different sports but at a small school my husband does everything, along with the two other coaches.

Cross Country, football, basketball (boys), and track.

and that is for both Jr. High & High School. :)

So while he is gone bay fishing I am going to finish up some work this morning and then it is off to the beach with my guy!

On Sunday, was our engagement anniversary.

Is that a thing?

Maybe since I am still in "newlywed" territory here I just want to celebrate everything.

:)

Night of our engagement.

Not a super romantic story, but it was perfect.

Short version, I knew he had a ring, I had been in Amarillo for THREE longs months, he wanted to pick me up in Abilene, we went to eat at Texas Roadhouse (my FAV), got in his truck, he handed me a gift and there was the ring, some sappy words exchanged, we were engaged. It only took us six years to get there.

But I would NOT change a thing!

I am off to get on a conference call that I will be doing from my balcony. Who said that working on vacation was all that bad ;)

XOXO ~ JulieAnn

P.S ~ Everyone needs to go check out Shelly at Queen In Between and  Katy at Queen of the Kings for their first link up!

This link up is all about celebrating women who inspire you!

How awesome is that?!?!

I have so many and I cannot wait to participate next time!
