January Wrap Up

Who won the award for the worst blogger ever this past month?!?

That would be yours truly :)

I have completely failed this month due to so many lame excuses and I am going to due better in February.

Since I did not blog at all I wanted to hit the high points of January.

Ad went home and was able to watch his sister show her pigs.

Lots and lots of basketball has been going on

This girl had this shirt made for me and I love it.
What is funny is that both of us are not from Evant and just happen to live here now.

I have got to spend lots of time with this guy after games eating fast food :)

I spent lots of time sick and caring around boxes of tissues.

We had a baby shower for my bestie, Geani.
I cannot wait to meet her sweet little girl.

Can I just say that I got asked FIFITY million times when we were having a baby and I wanted to rent a airplane and have it written in the sky, I DON'T KNOW......

Okay, rant over.

We finished up this month at a jr. high basketball tournament.
I love this picture because I went to get feed for the cows and went to the tournament in the same town.
I love small towns.

The 29th was my Pop's birthday!
He is the most amazing man and I could not be more blessed to be his granddaughter.

Let's hope I do better in February!

Show and Tell Tuesday: Introductions & 2016 Goals

Happy Tuesday! We must have all made it through yesterday. I must say getting caught up on a weeks worth of emails is rough :)

Anyway, today I am linking up with Andrea for the first Show and Tell Tuesday of the year.

Today we are reintroducing ourselves and sharing our resolutions for 2016.

I'm JulieAnn and this is my wonderful husband Adrian.

I started this blog one year ago as a way to document our first year of marriage but it has become so much more. I love the community the blog world creates. You can see my first post here

I am 23 years old and a social worker working with families that have adopted children. I LOVE my job and the people I get to work with. I am also in graduate school and will be done in August! YAY!
Then I will be starting my clinical hours so needless to say I don't feel like I will ever be done with school.

My husband is a jr. high science teacher and a coach and he is also in grad school...
I truly believe that we are crazy but in August we will both be done. I am so proud of him and all of his hard work!

Not only is he a football coach but a cross country, basketball, and track coach too

We live in a super small town that has a population of 400.
Small like one gas station and no stop light...
We are about 75 miles north of Austin.

Adrian and I have "known" each other our whole life as we grew up in a small town of 800 people.
We started dating my sophomore year and his junior year and the rest is history.

You can read about how we met and got engaged here

I have the most amazing group of friends.

I have the greatest family.
My mom, my grandparents, my aunt & uncle.
{My grandparents and my brother and  two cousins.}

Adrian and I love to go to Vegas and really vacation anywhere :)

We got married September 13, 2014

He is the greatest man and I could not love him more.

I love the Lord and I am thankful everyday for the forgiveness He gives me, because somedays I don't necessary deserve it. I am beyond blessed in my life.

Now for my resolutions for 2016.

I wrote a post here about all of my goals but basically I want to be a better me.
Life is crazy and I often times try to do too much, I'm a people pleaser and have trouble saying no to others. I want to be able to set boundaries and make time for the most important things in life. So what if there are still dishes in the sink because last night we headed out to a basketball game. I need to get better about not being so hard on myself and take time to enjoy the little but great things in life.

Thanks for taking the time to read this today and I hope you will follow along with how 2016 goes, I promise it won't be boring :)

XOXO ~ JulieAnn

Christmas Trip Part 1

Happy Monday! If you are getting ready for work like my husband is this morning I am sorry. I went back last Monday. So I thought I should share about or Christmas vacation, maybe it will make this Monday a little better :) I am so excited to share about our trip with you guys!

I have been begging to go to Charleston for the longest time and my sweet husband surprised me with a trip over Christmas break.

{Warning: Picture overload ahead!}

We left home on Thursday night and headed to Weatherford to stay with Adrian's grandparents.

The truck was packed and we hit the road.

We headed out Friday morning.

We could not leave Texas without some Whataburger.

We drove all day and got to Memphis around 7 pm.
I looked all over the place for the best place to find BBQ in Memphis and Trip Advisor did not disappoint!

Central BBQ it was!

I got pulled pork and mac & cheese.

Adrian had pulled pork and a side salad. This salad was huge!

I loved these old doors.

As soon as we got back in the truck all of the lights in downtown went out.

We then drove a couple of more hours to Huntsville, Alabama, where we stayed the night.

On Saturday morning we headed out to Lynchburg, TN to the Jack Daniel's Distillery. I originally did not think I would enjoy this but I had a blast.

We got there early and was in the first tour group.

We had to ride a little bus to the warehouse.

These are 7 stories high that hold all of the Jack Daniels.

Wood that they burn to make the coals.

Old firetruck.

These were huge!

We got our own bottle engraved.

After the tour we walked around the town.

cute table at lunch

I love this guy so much!

We walked into a store and found this from San Saba, Texas.
We used to live in San Saba and we now live about an hour away.

While we were driving to Charleston we saw all of this water coming off the mountains. It was beautiful.

That night we made it to Charleston.

If you are still with me THANK YOU!

I will be doing part 2 soon.

I will say that if you are ever in Tennessee or close you should go check out the Jack Daniel's Distillery.

XOXO ~ JulieAnn
