Weekend Wrap - Up: Let's Rodeo San Antonio

Hey guys!

I have to say that I have gotten 650 page views on this little blog! I am BLOWN AWAY! To some that might not seem like much but to me that is huge. So I just want to take a minute to say THANK YOU to each and everyone of you who took a couple of minutes of your time to read this blog. It truly means a lot!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I know I did, even if we were on the go.

We started off the weekend by going to a playoff game in Moody. We then went to eat at Coach's Barbque in McGregor. I had not ate there before and was amazed how good it is. Now I am a Texas girl and love me some BBQ and this place did NOT disappoint. This place was sooo good! The hubs and I LOVED it and will be going back. If you are ever in the area I recommend it.

Our YUMMY food.

We then came home in time for me to get comfy and watch my Spurs on TV. #winning

Tim Duncan. The Greatest Power Forward. Ever.

On Saturday we took off to go to San Antonio for the Stock Show. Ad's sister does not show until Wednesday but she wanted to go see her friends show on Sunday and since we don't live to far away we loaded up and went.

Starting out my morning right with some SPARK and my Spurs.

A great way to kill some time in the car especially when I win :)

I love this guy so much!

We headed out to eat with a group of 17 people and ended up waiting an hour and half to eat. However it was so worth it. If you are in San Antonio you must go eat at Mi Tierra Cafe & Bakery. #AMAZING

Ad's dinner.

My dinner. Loving this. #texmex

It was 11 pm when we got out of dinner. Mi Tierra is open 24 hours a day and it was still packed when we left. This picture was taken on our walk back to the hotel.

Sunday morning came and we were to check out of the hotel, head to the show, and attempt to stay warm. Am I the only one who is OVER this cold weather??? I hate the heat during the summer but I HATE the cold. I was not made to handle cold. This Texas Bi-Polar weather has got to get it together and get warm.

Packed up and ready to go. Like usual the hubs is on his phone talking away. We stayed ONE night and all of these bags are mine. Hello my name is JulieAnn and I over pack for everything. Please don't judge me.

Did not mean to take the picture with our food in it.

On the road again, on the phone again.....

Sunday night was full of Oscar watching, hot chocolate drinking, and Brian and Behavior Studying. #socialwork #gradschoolproblems

Super cute scarf I found at the stock show.

Lovin these new earrings I also found.

So that was my weekend. I had some great family time! We will go back Tuesday morning and will stay until Wednesday night after Blaise shows. Pray she does well! So much hard work and time goes into showing animals and it teaches the kids so much. I love getting to see my husband in his element at these shows. He loves the animals and the competition.

I hope everyone has a safe and WARM Monday.

Show and Tell Tuesday: How we Met & Got Engaged

Happy Tuesday!

I hope everyone enjoyed their Monday off. I had the day "off" but still worked from 8:00 am to 6:30 pm. Thankfully I have an amazing husband who was out of school and cleaned, did the laundry, and made dinner.

Steak, Stuffed Peppers, Baked Potato, and Salad ..... YUM

He also made breakfast on Sunday :)

Then we had this yummy dinner Sunday night at a new Mexican Restaurant.

I must say I have a pretty amazing guy so I am excited to share how we met and got engaged by linking up with Andrea for Show and Tell Tuesday.

Adrian and I have always known each other due to growing up in a SMALL town of just 800 people. Adrian was just one grade ahead of me in school so I always "knew him". It was not until my sophomore year in 2007-2008 that we started "talking". We had a mutual friend, Melissa, who told me that we should date. At first I thought she was CRAZY. Don't get me wrong Adrian is a great guy but we did not "run" in the same groups in high school. Adrian was loud and opinionated where I was shy and quite. We were & are complete opposites and that is what makes us work.

Me and Melissa

So our mutual friend, Melissa, told me that Adrian had given her his number and asked that she give it to me. So I took his number and started to text him and I feel like the rest is history. We went on our first date on December 31, 2007. We went out for New Year's to a movie and had Taco Bell after. This was our first official date. We have been inseparable since.

We started dating my sophomore year in high school and his junior year in high school. We did everything together throughout school and I will cherish those memories forever. We will always remember the football games, me in the band & him playing, both of us playing basketball, my attempt at golf, his great golf skills. The list could go on and on. We had the best time in high school together. He is my best friend and I am so blessed to have him in my life.

Adrian graduated in 2009, why I can't find those pictures I have no idea #wifefail. He went on to college at Howard Payne University in Brownwood. He commuted so I still got to see him every day :)

He had classes in the morning so at lunch time he would meet me at my grandparents house and bring me lunch daily. I am telling you this guy is the sweetest. He made everything of mine that I did my senior year, even though he went to school full time and worked.

So Adrian has always had this "rule" that we were not going to get married until we both graduated college. I was not so excited about that but understood his reasoning. I started Howard Payne University in August 2010. I also commuted like him since it was so close to our home town. I wouldn't say we had the "normal" college experience. We both took 15-18 hours and worked. We loved to be at home on his family's ranch and life a simple life. So we both graduated in May 2013. We had a great time together through college! We went on a lot of trips and had the best time with our families.

We did it :)

I could not have made it to that day without this guy!

So I thought we were going to get engaged on that day but Mr. had other plans! We graduated on a Saturday and on the following Monday I started my new job at CPS. I had to travel to Amarillo for training for the next three months. On Thursday, July 11, 2013, Adrian asked if my co-worker could drop me off in Abilene so he could take me out to eat on Friday night. I had a feeling this might be it. So I did what every girl does and painted my nails and called my best friend and told her what I thought.

So on Friday, July 12, 2013 Adrian picked me up in Abilene and we went and ate at Texas Roadhouse #myfav. We had great conversation and just enjoyed each other's company. Once we got back into his truck he started with a sweet speech and then pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him. After waiting a couple of years seven years, I said YES!

Later Adrian told me that he had a better proposal planned for the next week when we were going to be going to South Padre Island with my family. However in true CPS fashion my training schedule got changed and I was unable to take off to go with him and my family. To say I was devastated was an understatement. So in my guys true fashion he wanted to find a way to cheer me up and his way of doing that was asking me the most important question.  I would say that he is a keeper!

So happy!

So over the next year we planned a wedding, moved, and changed jobs. Our lives are very crazy!

Then on September 13, 2014 we FINALLY got married. I could not be happier to share this life with this man.

This might be the LONGEST post I have ever done but how could I not go on and on about this wonderful man!
