Call Me Crazy But........

Hey guys!

I AM OFFICIALLY CRAZY and here is why.......

Adrian and I know that we are going to want to expand our family in the near(ish) future and right now we live in a tiny two bedroom house. That seems like it would be enough room right?

Wrong! First off, since Ty has lived here the second bedroom became her room while my office, (I work from home), is now in the living room. Second, I will be the first to admit I am a hoarder.

A little history, growing up I moved ONCE and that was across town, then I moved twice during college, both times across town, so moving is not something I was used to. Then my husband got his first coaching job and that all changed.

Since July of 2013:

1. Rising Star to San Saba
2. San Saba to Cherokee
3. Cherokee to Evant

To some people that might not seem like a lot but for me it is!

So for me to tell Adrian the other night, "I think we should move" was HUGE!

We are NOT leaving Evant but we will need a bigger house in the near future.

So now all I can think about is what I want in a new house and I am excited about the possibility of moving, THIS.IS.NOT.NORMAL!

It is official I AM CRAZY! I blame Pintrest and all the super cute decor.

I need this in my house asap.

I mean, I wish!

These are just a FEW of my wishes in a house.

I highly doubt that any of these will happen but a girl can wish right?!?!

Waiting on Wednesday: New Family Member

Hey guys!

It is Wednesday so that means that I am linking up with Holly for Waiting on Wednesday.

I have been very blessed to have an amazing group of friends in my life. I will need to "introduce" each of them on the blog sometime but for today I am just going to talk about one part of the "Fab Five"

One of my besties Kasey just had a baby girl last night! I am so excited to go see her and love on her.

It is so unique to get to grow up with my friends and still be the best of friends today. I love how we are all on our own paths but still text almost daily.

These are the four girls that I am blessed to call my best friends.

MEET KASEY

We have been friends since we were little, like birth really.
{I am lazy and did not go drag out pictures of us at my four year old Mikey Mouse birthday party :) }

Kasey & I shared a "special" love/ hate bond with cross country.

We ran cross country together all four years of high school. We had practice really early every morning and some of my favorite memories in high school is her and I getting ready after practice and discussing what we wanted in our future.

We would make it to regionals and wonder why we worked so hard to just run some more.

Hello my name is JulieAnn and I am a hard core Texan who believes in the bigger the Homecoming Mum the better. #iamsorryAdrain

We played basketball together.

We were crazy on bus rides

We had the best of times joking with our coach.

{Sorry Coach Ribble}

The fab 5 at prom

We all graduated high school together and actually three of us ended up living in the same apartment complex in R Star.

Us at Geani's wedding

This is true friendship

They came to my graduation.

Kasey is the friend that will keep you laughing and I am so very thankful for that.

April 2015

I know that she is going to be the most amazing mom and I am so excited to get to watch her little girl grow up.

"I cannot even imagine where I would be today were it not for that handful of friends who have given me a heart full of joy. Let's face it, friends make life a lot more fun."

~ Charles R.  Swindoll

I have never taken our special friendship for granted and I am very excited to see how our lives continue to change and grow but for now I am just waiting to get to hold that special little girl that has already brought so much more joy to a lot of people's lives.

Favorite Things: Hair Products

It is Monday Y'all!

I hope everyone is enjoying this holiday weekend and remembering the real reason (most of us) are getting the day off.

Today I am linking up with Andrea and Erika for their Favorite Things Series.

Today we are talking about hair products.

Full disclosure here, I am not a super "girly girl" when it comes to do my hair and make up. I like to keep it simple.

It is so funny that my hair stylist keeps telling me that this is the best & healthiest she has seen my hair!
And mind you she has been doing my hair since I was a baby. So I guess I am doing something right.

I get very bad dandruff and Head & Shoulders has been my go to for years to help with that.

I have to buy bigger bottles because my husband likes Head & Shoulders as well.

I get my hair colored a few shades lighter than my natural color.
When I get my hair colored and for a couple of days after I use John Frieda's Brilliant Brunette Shampoo and Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship Conditioner.

These both smell AMAZING!

My hair is naturally straight as a board so I try not to do to much to it.
If I am going to let it towel/air dry {which happens often} then I just put some Coconut Milk on my hair. My stylist uses it every time I am there and it just makes my hair shiny and smells wonderful.

I am a little kid and hate tangles! So I use Johnson's Kids detangling spray.

On the days that I do blow dry my hair I add a couple of more things in my hair.

First, I use the Kid's Detangling Spray and I use Suave Heat Protection before I even start blow drying my hair.

I have super thick hair and it takes me 30 minutes to forty - five minutes to blow dry my hair. I use a blow dryer from Wal Mart. It does not get as much use as it once did.

After blow drying it I normally just brush it and use Aussie Instant Freeze Hairspray.

If it is nasty outside my hair can get a little frizz to it so I will use a little bit of John Frieda's Frizz Ease.

I know this is going to sound terrible but there are days when I have early meetings and I have an hour or more drive, so after I towel dry my hair as best I can, I get into the car with it still wet and let it air dry until I get to my meeting.

Let's see if you can spot a difference:

Blow Dried.

Blow dried.

Air dried while going to a meeting.

Air dried while going to a track meet.

Air dried while getting to a basketball game.

And most days my hair ends up in a pony tail.

Or during Football season it looks like this...

Well I hope someone could follow along on my crazy explanation of my favorite hair products!

I hope everyone stays safe this Memorial Day!

Friday Favorites: Full of Randomness

It is Friday!!

I hope you all are getting to have a extra long weekend or you could be like me and either be working or be on call for work!

I hope everyone takes a moment this weekend to reflect on the real reason for this holiday and be grateful for the men and women who sacrifice so much for us to live in the Land of the Free.

Since it is Friday, you know what that means! I am linking up with Andrea , Erika and Narci for Friday Favorites.

My Favorite guy and I at the awards banquet this week.

After the banquet we went out to eat with one of the other coaches and his family.
We ate at Junction on Route 36 in Gatesville.
These are their famous Monster Balls. They are deep fried potatoes with cheese and bacon.

They are by far my FAVORITE!
If you are ever in my neck of the woods, I would recommend going there.

Every morning I have me a glass of sweet tea, fold a load of laundry, and watch Mike & Mike on ESPN 2.

This morning time before work is one of my FAVORITE times of the day.

Yesterday this girl was my date to the FFA banquet.
Going places with her is a Favorite of mine.

The hubs is gone for a coaching clinic so tonight Ty and I are having a girls night in.

We are going to do some of my favorite things such as baking cookies, watching movies, and just having a great time.

Then tomorrow it is off to Senior Saturday, where we will have a Powderpuff football game, volleyball tournament, and a 3 on 3 basketball tournament.

It will be a busy one and I am afraid I will be a little sore come Monday!

I hope you all have a great weekend and get to spend it with your favorite people!

Waiting on Wednesday: Soon to be Empty Nester {sort of}

Hey guys!

It is Wednesday and that means I am linking up with the super sweet Holly at While I'm Waiting.

and guess what!?!?!

My post from last week is a featured post this week.

I am so thankful to Holly for this! I would NEVER expect this.

Thank you :)

I cannot get over the fact that it is the 20th of May! School is almost over and I cannot believe it.

Last night we had the awards banquet at the school and I must say we are very blessed to live in such a great community!

Love him.

:)

Ty

Not the best pictures, but hey I tried.

Later this week we have field day, the FFA banquet, and the Elementary School Awards.

With all of these things happening I am starting to get some empty nest syndrome going on.

Ty came to live with us in January and I could not image her not being here. She is going to be graduating and going off to college soon and I feel as if I am going to suffer from some empty nest syndrome.

I have blogged before about how family is not all about blood relation but how it is the people who come into your life and touch you, that becomes family. Ty by far has become family. She keeps us very entertained and laughing. Sometimes I feel like she will need therapy after living in our crazy world but she just rolls with it.

On Saturday, the agency I work for was hosting a training for families and we needed extra help and Ty, and her friend were able to come and help, no questions asked.

We were up and leaving Evant before 5 am.

We had a great meal at Texas Roadhouse after the training.

I am just soaking up all the time with her I can. I know the Good Lord entrusted me to play a small role in this girl's life and I am thankful to Him everyday that she plays a role in our life.

I always laughed off "empty nest syndrome" because growing up you just want to be on your own and do not think about leaving home in a negative context, but now I believe in it.

I know Ty is not my daughter, I would have to have been 4 years old for her to be mine, but she has a place in my heart.

It is funny where the Lord leads us in life. If you would have asked me at this time last year if Ad and I would have moved, both of us changed jobs, and had a senior in high school living in our home, I would have said you are CRAZY

It is never our timing. It is all His.

Ty photo bombing

Never, ever, in a million years would I think this is where I would be at 22 years old.

But you know what?

I. LOVE. IT.

With school coming to a close are any of you about experience an empty nest?

If so lets get together and drown our sadness in a big piece of the yummiest chocolate cake or a glass of wine, which ever is closest ;)

Never forget what little time you have with your kids or "adopted" kids is so important not only for them but for you too!

XOXO ~ JulieAnn
