Waiting on Wednesday: Vegas & Fall

How is it already Wednesday?!?!?!

Since it's Wednesday that means I am linking up with Holly for Waiting on Wednesday!

I mean this week has FLOWN BY!

I have nothing super deep today but I do have some of my favorite pictures up from our vacation in Vegas so far (:

We ate at our favorite Japanese Steak House last night.

Cosmo & Sex & the City Slots is my favorite

We tried to get a picture #photofail

Love sitting out by the hot tub every night

This morning we went and had breakfast at Denny's and I didn't have any paper and had to write something down while on a phone call.

Afternoon. Pool+ Drink + Good Book = Happiness

Here I am again tonight.

View from our room

My favorite guy & I at the hot tub.

So we head home tomorrow evening and then it is work, work, work and more work for me!

Then in about two weeks 2-days start up!

I am not ready for the craziness of it all but I LOVE FALL

ready for two a days last year

I had to miss the first game due to work :(

But first game of the year (for me)

Weekend Wrap Up: Where do I start?

So Where do I start?

On Friday I met some of my awesome families at the movies to talk about emotions and watch the Inside Out movie. I will have to write about the movie at some point but know this IT.IS.GREAT.

Then I met some great ladies and had dinner together. Friday was my first time to eat at the Macaroni Grill... crazy right?!?! Moving on from my lack of food diversity.

I also got my business cards... I feel official now :)

On Saturday I spent the day doing laundry, packing, cleaning, and working.

It went by way to fast. My uncle and Ad met me at home and we re-packed the car and headed out to Dallas Love Field.

Spent the whole three hour trip working on my research paper.

Our flight was SUPPOSED TO leave at 8:45 p.m. Little did we know that we would not be leaving over TWO hours later. I hate waiting. I don't car if I am waiting in traffic, waiting at the store, and especially waiting at the air port. Apparently we did not have a captain...... After I heard that I thought of Denzel Washington in Flight. Sad huh?

We were then told they found one and so we all boarded the plane. And then sit there an HOUR.

He was fine just watching Netflix. Me I was bored out of my mind!

We FINALLY made it to Vegas. It took forever and a day to get our bags.

We then made it to the hotel at about 3:00 am Texas time. You would think we would be able to check in super quick and get up to the room. HA HA HA we were WRONG again.

So apparently our reserved room was not available. YAY! So we got "upgraded" to a different tower and room. Well that room didn't have two beds so it didn't work. So we go back down to the desk and we were told that we get that room.

Finally, the last I saw it was about 4:00 am Texas time when I finally went to sleep. LONGEST DAY EVER.

So we started Sunday by watching some golf.

Then we waited and waited in line to check out, just so we could check back in.
We finally got into our correct room!

On Sunday I had a research paper due and like the good procrastinator  president I am, I spent most of the day working on my paper. Thankfully I got it done.

This was me all day........

Then I got to spend some time with this guy!

Even though we had the craziest time getting here, we did make it safely and that is all that matters in the end.

Let's see what we get into tomorrow. (:

Waiting on Wednesday: Waiting to Get Home

Hey!

So this post is being created at the Harligen Airport as I am waiting to board to get to Houston where then I will wait to get to Austin where then I will drive almost two hours home! So I should see my bed around 1 am!

You tired yet? Because I am. And to top that all off I have to be in the Tyler area bright and early at 10 for work and I live about three hours from there. (:

Needless to say I am guessing I will get about three hours of sleep but it is well worth it for 48 hours of sun, sand, and the ocean with my main man!

This was us today at the pool.

Isn't he the cutest :)

(I do have on a swim suite, I promise!)

This is just some of the fun I had today.

I have also finished two books and working on my third!

I wish I could stay longer but work calls.

I am not too sad because Saturday we are off to Vegas!

Us in Vegas in March

We love Vegas. I love to people watch and let me tell you there is PLENTY to see there!

I just love getting to spend time away with my main man.

I hope you are all enjoying your summer with the people you love!

Don't forget to link up with Holly for Waiting on Wednesday!

Beach Time

Hey!

I am sorry I have been so MIA, please bear with me through July & then you will get nothing but Football, Football, and more Football. HA HA HA

I know you guys are excited. #Imightgoalittlecrazyduringfall

So where in the world am I today?!?!

The Beach!

South Padre Island to be exact.

We come here every year but this year all I have in this pretty place is 48 hours then it is back to work for me.

#selfiefail

I have no idea why I am wearing my sunglasses inside.

If I could have this view every day I might actually read some more for grad school.

Yes, my husband is a master on the grill.

So this morning as I am typing this, I am being blinded by the sun, hear multiple lawn mowers, and see multiple people down below cleaning the pools.

But most importunely I see God's AMAZING creation.

The wind, the sand, the water, the sun.

These are things that I see daily (minus the sand & ocean) but why does it take a breathtaking place to remind me of just how Awesome God's creation is!

I am so thankful to have this 48 hours to spend in the sand & sun and with my family.

I am needing to work on being more intentional with the time I spend with my hubby as in just a couple of weeks, he starts two-a-days and will never be heard from again till May.

So I am overreacting but once football starts back, he is NEVER home. It's just our life.

In bigger schools there are different coaches for different sports but at a small school my husband does everything, along with the two other coaches.

Cross Country, football, basketball (boys), and track.

and that is for both Jr. High & High School. :)

So while he is gone bay fishing I am going to finish up some work this morning and then it is off to the beach with my guy!

On Sunday, was our engagement anniversary.

Is that a thing?

Maybe since I am still in "newlywed" territory here I just want to celebrate everything.

:)

Night of our engagement.

Not a super romantic story, but it was perfect.

Short version, I knew he had a ring, I had been in Amarillo for THREE longs months, he wanted to pick me up in Abilene, we went to eat at Texas Roadhouse (my FAV), got in his truck, he handed me a gift and there was the ring, some sappy words exchanged, we were engaged. It only took us six years to get there.

But I would NOT change a thing!

I am off to get on a conference call that I will be doing from my balcony. Who said that working on vacation was all that bad ;)

XOXO ~ JulieAnn

P.S ~ Everyone needs to go check out Shelly at Queen In Between and  Katy at Queen of the Kings for their first link up!

This link up is all about celebrating women who inspire you!

How awesome is that?!?!

I have so many and I cannot wait to participate next time!

Waiting on Wednesday: July Goals

Hey guys!

So I have been MIA lately and I am sorry! Sometimes life gets crazy and can beat you down. I can't talk to much about it but maybe once everything is done I can share some :)

Anyway, I came "up for air" and since I have yet to miss one of Holly's Waiting on Wednesday Link Up I knew today would be the day to try to get back to the blog.

Can anyone explain to me how it is ALREADY JULY 1ST!
Where is this summer going?!?!?!

I have yet to do monthly goals, mainly because I hate to not accomplish everything on my list.

Let me just say that July is one CRAZY BUSY month! It is the busiest month of the year at work and there is so much that has to be done in such a short amount of time.

Now to my Goals:

{Fix Two Meals & Take To Friends}
Call it very southern of me but I love to take food to others. Weird I know!
I want to make it a priority to do this for two of my friends this month.
Let's see if it actually happens!

{Soak up as Much Time with the Hubs}
July is really the last month we have without sports starting back up. There will be open gym nights and things like that going on in the month but it is no where near as crazy as when August hits. Ever heard of 2 a days? Yep, they always start around my birthday :)

Last year I had to take Ad to the hospital on my birthday due to him getting dehydrated the night BEFORE 2 a days started.

Anyway, this month of my work is crazy and coming next month our life will revolve around the couple of hours from when Ad gets home from practice to the time he heads to bed. {I am a night owl, he turns into a pumpkin (his words not mine) at 9:30}  Needless to say that is not very much time. Our Thursday's & Friday's will be filled with pep rallys and football games. Then will come Monday, Tuesday & Friday night basketball. It all won't get less crazy until May.....

Needless to say June & July are the only two months when I get to have time with Ad without our lives begin too crazy. So for this month I am going to soak up as much time as I can with him. I bet we will have lots of date nights!

We are headed to a Rangers game over the weekend and headed to Vegas later this month. I am looking forward to what else we find to do this month.

{Organize Office}
This one needs to happen ASAP! My home office is a mess. End of story!

{Clean out Storage}
We have lived her about a year and thankfully we have a storage building in the back so that is where all of our stuff is that I never unpacked. Ad had said before we even think about moving I need to go through that stuff and clean it out. While, we are not moving, I am tired of seeing all these boxes pilled up every time I go out there. So maybe, IF I have time I can get the hubs to help me :)

{Get Ad's Football Stuff Ready}
Thankfully we are not moving schools so this is not as a big deal as it was last year. Last year we had to go buy all new clothes in Evant's school colors. This year it will just be new shoes, sun glasses, and maybe some shorts. I will also need to get all of his dress shirts and fall jackets to the cleaners and ready to go.

{Think/ Start Planning for Our 1st Anniversary & Ad's 25th Birthday}
I know you are tired of reading the word crazy in this post but the one word that describes us is crazy. We thought the best time to get married was in September during football season. Dumb I know but no one ever said I liked to do things the easy way :)

We got married on 9/13 and Ad's birthday is 9/14. He should always remember our anniversary. This year I really want to do something "big" for Ad's birthday. He will be turning a quarter of a century ;)

Any suggestions on a party for my old man are greatly appreciated!

{Turn Phone & Computer Off}
THIS.IS.SO.HARD.FOR.ME!

I need to practice self-care. I feel like this will be an ongoing goal for me for many months years to come.

{Get Ahead of School Work}
Ha ha ha ha Who am I kidding?!?!
I am the worlds best procrastinator.....
This is a long shot but it is worth a shot.

So there ya have it, here are my July goals.

Let's see how well I do :)

XOXO  ~ JulieAnn
